| If anyone is interested in the Fat Flush Plan, here is a link to their forum page http://www.fatflush.com/forum/ and to their home page http://www.fatflush.com/ another informational page: http://www.ivillage.com/diet/feature...3884%2C00.html http://my.webmd.com/content/article/...Weight_Control The Fat Flush is a concept by Ann Louise Gittleman. She believes her plan allows for healing of the liver. Her plan is supposed to help get rid of cellulite too. It includes frequent small meals, using flax oil and flax seed, cran-water, a long-life cocktail (cran water and dietary fiber), reduced fats and salts, and some other things.

| Ilse - Thanks for posting this. Just Tuesday I went to Barnes and Noble's to check out her book but they were out of it. Borders had it but only in the 21.95 hardcover edition. That was more than i was willing to pay until I found out more. |

| Rob, you might want to take the book out of the library. I did and later got a 3 book set for under $30. Here is where I got the books on-line. http://www.booksamillion.com/ncom/bo...find=fat+flush

| Ilse, are you currently doing the Fat Flush plan? I was thinking about it, but optted for Schwarzbein Principle instead. |

| I'm not totally doing FF. I don't do the Long Life Cocktail twice a day. I do 32-64 (usually 32 oz) oz of cran-water some days. I like bringing it to work. I have a bright pink sports bottle for it. I like to add Vitamin C crystals and Stevia plus to it. I don't restrict myself to only certain spices, but I do try to use the spices FF recommends more often, especially cinammon, sometimes cumin, and cayenne. Some days I make the lemon water, but usually not in the morning. I am trying to eat more frequent meals. I am trying to decided if I should start using dairy, like cheeese and heavy cream again. Right now, I'm not. I make a cereal with ground flax seed, flax meal, oat bran (2T of each), 1 scoop protein powder, so that's not totally on FF. When I make protein shakes or smoothies, I try to remember to add 1T of Flax oil. But, I don't usually get two T in a day. I don't have a rebounder, but when I go swimming, I try to jog in the water or jump around, to help with the lymph system. I sometimes eat more than 2 eggs a day, but I have switched to a vegetarian egg instead of the ones Sam's Club or Costco has. If I buy bread, it will be Ezekial bread. I have not found the new one FF recommends (I think it's French Meadows). I try to eat more often (6 small meals a day), but I'm find it better not to have just a fruit for my snack. It seems to trigger a blood sugar reaction. I'm now trying to do it more like CALP-protein and a LC veggie. I had cut down on fats and salt for several months. I am using sea salt, if I use salt. I had gone off plan in March. I am now easing back into being more strict. I am doing CALP with elements of FF Based on Schwarzbein, I am supposed to have quite a bit of protein. So, when a WOE restricts a person to 8 oz or so per day, it seems kind of low. I'm still mulling over what the best choice will be as far as how to approach this thing. I know from doing MT, that if I eat controlled carbs, I don't have to overdo the carbs or lose control with them. But, for some reason, the MT WOE seems to take a lot of time and energy. (I don't pre-cook a week's worth of food at a time, except maybe for brown rice)

| Ilse - good suggestion. I did an online search of my public library and they only have 4 copies in 20 branches. So I put it on reserve and they'l call me when it's available. I've heard about the cran water. What kind of cranberry juice do you need? |

| Thank you, Isle. I don't feel so bad anymore. I've been trying so hard to stick to the Schwarzbein Principle, but ended up with part Adkins and part Schwartzbein. I am slowly trying to integrate more of SP in my WOE. I'm not in a rush. I feel great right now and I believe the added carbs have put a boost in my workout. I'm usually at the gym 5 to 6 times a week and 3 to 4 of those days are at least 2hr sessions. So the increase of good carbs have helped me tremendously. However, I'm still struggling with the whole 3 meals and snacks. I just got to a point where I'm eating 3 full meals. Anyway...I know I'm rambling. You guys and gals here are AWESOME. Woooo Whoooo |

| Rob, The cran-water is 1/2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice (I buy it at Trader Joe's. I've also seen it at Whole Foods Market) mixed with 28 oz of filtred water. I add Stevia Plus and some Vitamin C crystals. The lemon water is hot water mixed with the juice of a lemon (I use 1/2 lemon and squeeze out the jiuce). I add Stevia plus and enjoy. CrazeeKat, Schwarzbein advises against over-exercising. Are you sure that two hours a day isn't too much? She says that 30-60 minutes of resistance/adaptive training three times a week is recommended. She says that cardio overexercising can burn out the adrenals. And, overexercising can cause a cortisol reaction.

| I picked up the book today and bought the Cranberry juice. But jeez, it was $6.59 a quart at whole foods. I'm still reading the book but given what i've read so far i probably won't do the full plan either. For one thing I never succeed at giving up my pot of coffee a day. She does allow one cup of organic coffee but I'm so coffee addicted I have been known to make a quick cup of instant while the regular is perking. LOL (sad but true). But all that aside I think she has some good things in her plan. I plan to adopt the long life cocktail and the lemon and hot water as well as the cran-water. |

| I like the cran-water and long life cocktail. It's only been 2 days and I can feel a difference. My energy level was good before but I think it's improved a bit. Maybe I should give more of her program a try. |

| Whole Foods has a couple of brands of the cranberry juice. I saw one that was around $5 for a bottle, but it was in a display by itself. I think it was by Mountain Sun. I didn't see any frozen concentrate at Whole Foods. Trader Joes sells it too. (their brand) I don't remember it being horridlby expensive, but I bought it a while ago, so I don't remember. Have you been doing the lemon water? I like having that, but haven't been doing it regularly. Do you drink your cran-water unsweetened? I add Stevia Plus and some vitamin C crystals. I was getting pretty bad with carbs. I am trying to do no carbs (but LC veggies) for as long as I can stand it (no more than 2 weeks). Then, I will be doing the FFP for sure. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the 8 oz of meat or fish. It seems rather low. From what I calculated from Schwarzbein (in SPII), I am supposed to have more like 15-18 oz at my weight. SPII also allows for "as many eggs as the body wants" rather than "up to two". Any thoughts?

| Ilse I drink the cran-water unsweetened. I just this morning added freshly ground flax seed to make the long life cocktail. It's not unleasant tasting unsweetened but a little sweetener would help get it down. I haven't been doing the lemon water much. I went to purchase lemons the other day and they wanted 79 cents for a smallish lemon. I figure I'll go to Aldi's today and buy a bag of lemons for under $2.00. I agree that 8 ounces of meat/fish/poultry seems low but I think she allows up to 12 ounces in special circumstances. I can't remember exactly because I was reading in bed last night and was getting sleepy. Speaking of which I found my sleep the last 2 nights more restful. coincidence? maybe not? I also notice I'm not as hungry after the cran-water. And the addition of flax seed really filled me. I still haven't eaten breakfast and I woke up at 5:00. As far as the cranberry juice I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just buy it despite the cost. I bought Knudsen's by the way. I am currently limiting myself top 1 quart of cran-water a day So the bottle will last a week. I think you could probably add in more eggs without ill effects. As far as protein etc. I don't see myself following her plan to the letter. I am going to try and incorporate some aspects into my woe. Maybe at some point down the line I might tryn the full 2 week regimen. Keep us posted , Ilse, on your progress. |

| I feel really good doing the cran water and lemon-hot water part of her plan. Aslo the flax meal added to the cran water helps in ways I won't go into. LOL But I've been weighing myself every morning for the past 3 days and have gained 1/2 a pound a day. It could be coincidence or just my body adjusting. I'm going to give it a full 2 weeks and just see where I am at that point. I don't think I'll weigh myself tomorrow for my official weigh-in post. I did read teh aprt where she says you don't have to follow every paert of her Fat flush plan for it to work. so There's hope. |

| I found that when I first started using psyllium in my protein shakes, I gained & stayed up for a couple of weeks while the body adjusted to that type of fiber. I would say, don't worry about the gain if it makes you feel good. And, if it helps you detoxify, that's important too!
